DIDACTIC SEQUENCE THREE : 1.3 what are you doing to make Mexico a better place to live?

English for Young Adults and Adults

First Part 

                                  UNIT ONE: Changing the World

Purpose: The student will be able to talk about  him and other people’s  personal information, what he and other people do and are doing in professional field.

20  hours.

 1.3 What are you doing? (5 hours)

Show the slides to read the text out loud (file one). One person reads a sentence, then another person reads the second sentence and so on.

In pairs students answer the PDF (file two) document to reinforce and review the information given in the three previous sessions.

Stick  four pictures  showing people doing something on the board and explain present progressive and rules for making gerunds ask students  give you some more verb examples .

Show the collage slide and  ask volunteers go ahead and make questions to their classmates (file three).

Example:

Volunteer: What is the girl in picture 8 doing?

One classmate: She is working on his laptop.

Give students one collage copy and ask them to write 4 short talks

In pairs they answer the PDF file in teams of three, but each student must have a set of copies.

Make 5 teams and make students analyse the text. What kind of information is there?

Eg. Who? Where? when? What doing?

After the analysis students are shown a picture and they have to write a composition (file four)

Students come in pairs to the teacher´s desk and talk about the picture given. (You can give them the picture before to make a plan.
